New ACEOs

I've just listed a few new ACEOs on Etsy.

This one is Stripes I, the first in my Stripes series. The paint is metallic, which is why the photo looks so funny. It's $5, and you can see more information and purchase it here.

This one is Minima II, the second in the Minima series. The first was sold pretty quickly, and the third I traded last week. The ink is actually a very dark purple India ink, not black. It's $4, and you can see more information and purchase it here.

This one is Color Wash VIII, the eighth in the Color Wash series. The paint is a wash of metallic gold acrylic, which has black India ink over it. It's $5, and you can see more information and purchase it here.

Week 32 - Turquoise

Turquoise, sterling silver, and Hilltribe silver. It's pretty small (it's actually my size!), so whoever buys it will probably want me to adjust it for them.

I haven't been making much jewelry lately. It's the last two weeks of the semester, and grad school is kicking my batootie. I have another 45 or so pages to write on two term papers and then I'm jetting off to DC for a 10-week internship and then visiting family and THEN Guatemala for three weeks for Spanish study. Talk about craziness! I'm catching up a little bit on the project in my next few posts, but I'm still several weeks behind.

FSOJ - Week 11 - Rio

The theme was Native Spirit - Peruvian ceramic beads (painted round, red and blue tubes), turquoise, onyx, sterling silver wire and accent beads. The ceramic beads are from a local bead store, and although their other prices are decent (not great, but decent), the ceramic bead prices are a steal - I'll definitely be back! All comments welcome, as usual.

New Beads!

I have new beads to play with! I got in a big shipment of gemstone and silver beads today. I finished several pairs of custom earrings and a pendant that had been waiting on jumprings. Now I have all kinds of fun things to play with - flat diamond shaped pearls, kyanite, coral, and lots more.

Unfortunately, in the move from SC to TX three weeks ago, we managed to lose the digital camera. It's the ONLY thing we lost, so it could have been worse, but still - it does make posting pictures of my new creations difficult. So for now, I'll post this one. These earrings are turquoise and handmade sterling silver earrings made by the people of the Hilltribes in northern Thailand.

Thai Hilltribe beads are certainly beautiful, but after my experience in Thailand, I'm even more glad that the beads are becoming popular here in the US. I am glad to support the artisans that make such beautiful beads by incorporating them into my own work.
